Mathematics

Mathematics is about creativity, flexibility, persistence and problem solving.

Our Mathematics teaching and learning experiences are based on the NSW Curriculum whereby students are engaged in challenging, creative and visual math tasks that reflect the latest brain science.

Most importantly, students are involved in authentic, investigative explorations which involve ways of thinking that are logical and analytical to solve problems in the current world we live in.

The use of equipment and resources is used to facilitate children’s understanding of the connections between mathematical concepts. A positive attitude and skill development in Mathematics is enhanced through visualisation, play and investigation activities.

The five broad strands of Maths we learn are:

  • Working Mathematically
  • Number
  • Patterns and Algebra
  • Measurement and Data
  • Space and Geometry
