Learning Support

We have a Learning Support Teacher whose role is to assist the school community in the education of students with learning support needs.

Classroom teachers consult and work collaboratively with the Learning Support Team, specialist personnel and parents to:

  • Modify classroom programs
  • Devise new programs of teaching
  • Identify appropriate resources to create learning and social opportunities for students with special education needs

Our focus for learning support is on early intervention and detection of difficulties with learning. Student progress is monitored and assessed regularly. If any student needs assistance with their learning they are given support programs in class and parents are offered assistance to help your children at home.

Children with specific learning problems can have the school program adjusted or modified through the co-construction of an Independent Education Plan (IEP) in consultation with the Learning Support Teacher

Our Learning Support Program focuses on respect for the dignity of each child to give them every opportunity and support to reach their full potential.

Students who are on the Autism spectrum may be able to join the Vern Barnett class at Corpus Christi. You can read more details and apply here.
