Today marked the start of Lent with Ash Wednesday.
On this special day of reflection, Catholics wear a marking of the cross in ash on their foreheads. The ashes are made from the palms of last year’s Palm Sunday and symbolise our mortality.
As we commence Lent today, there are 40 days until Holy Thursday and reflective of the time that Jesus spent in the desert resisting temptation.
To celebrate this significant occasion, our Years 3 to 6 students attended a Parish Mass this morning with our K to 2 students having a Liturgy at school.
Yesterday Corpus celebrated Shrove Tuesday and enjoyed pancakes!
